Yesterday, November 29, 2024, I visited your establishment and made a purchase totaling $36. To my surprise, the discount I was supposed to receive was only applied after taxes and fees were deducted, something I hadn’t encountered before. However, what concerned me most was that my card was processed as an ATM transaction, despite not using an ATM. Upon speaking with the manager, he informed me that this is standard practice for all dispensaries, which I find hard to believe.
I have bank statements from transactions in California and Arizona that do not reflect this kind of activity. If you’re essentially adding $11 extra just to round up, that feels unethical. I mentioned to him that such practices should be communicated upfront, but he insisted otherwise. If I had known, I would have left immediately. I was already hesitant due to the high prices, and this added to my dissatisfaction.
The manager attempted to justify the situation by falsely claiming this happens with all banks and even asked about my bank. I wasn’t truthful about which bank I use, and his response confirmed misconceptions about my actual bank. Interestingly, my cousin, who was with me, did not experience this issue; her card was processed as a regular debit transaction.
The manager accused me of recording our conversation illegally, unaware that Kentucky law allows me to do so without his consent. As a law student, I am knowledgeable about the legal systems in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, and Florida. I have disputed the transaction with my bank, which was supportive throughout the process, and they resolved the matter in my favor. I have no intention of returning, as I refuse to tolerate condescending treatment. Although the light-skinned gentleman at the store attempted to overcharge me, I’m relieved to have received my money back.
Purchased a medical thc cartridge and it appeared to be broken after opening the package. Returned to the location with my receipt, checked in and told them the issue and they immediately refunded me in order to make a new purchase. The entire process was good. I was very happy with the outcome and definitely will return.
